What Does “no Fault” Auto Insurance Mean?

Latest News

As a personal injury attorney, I come across numerous clients that have absolutely no idea about what “no fault” auto insurance is.

“No fault” simply means that your auto insurance carrier pays for your medical treatment following an accident. Even if you’re at fault, in Florida, insurance carrier’s must cover up to $10,000 of their own insured’s medical expenses. This coverage is called Personal Injury Protection or simply PIP. Florida drivers must carry PIP benefits for a mandatory minimum of $10,000.
